The Rural Electrification Authority through its North-Western Regional Office has announced the successful site handover of two significant electrification projects.
The first, Kisasa 33KV Grid Intensification Project, has been entrusted to Reko Enterprise Limited, which will power Kisasa Secondary School and surrounding community in Kalumbila District. The second, Chief Ishima Project, has been awarded to Lunosa Company Limited, targeting the electrification of Kasesi Primary & Secondary School, Kasesi Rural Health Centre, Chief Ishima’s Palace, Musekelembwa Primary School, and the surrounding community in Zambezi District.
The Kisasa Project will include the Construction of 126 meters of 33kv overhead lines (OHL) from an existing OHL, as well as 20, 399 meters of 400V OHL, enabling 2, 435 connections. Meanwhile, Chief Ishima Project will see the construction of 9,292 meters of 11kv OHL and 8,838 meters of 400V OHL, resulting in 330 initial connections.
These transformative projects are being implemented with a total investment of ZMW 8, 178, 469.62 for the Kisasa project and ZMW 7, 079, 880.05 for Chief Ishima Project, further demonstrating our commitment to advancing electrification in Rural communities.
